Perlane® in Green, OH
Lip wrinkles, nasolabial folds, or “laugh lines” can all visibly age a person and are actually no joking matter. Take them seriously by scheduling a Perlane® injection with Dr. Steven Carp at his Green, OH clinic. Carp Cosmetic Surgery welcomes you if you reside in Akron, Canton, or any of the outlying areas.
What Is Perlane®?
Perlane® is a cosmetic product consisting of a dermal filler injected into the skin to help smooth away noticeable wrinkles near the lips, mouth, and cheeks. The ingredients function similar to Restylane® in filling in wrinkles to provide a smoother, more natural-looking appearance to the skin. It is different from Restylane® in that it smoothes wrinkles that are unaffected by milder treatments. It possesses the ability to attract water, adding volume and plumpness to the skin.
The numerous benefits of Perlane® include the following:
- Smoothes and fills fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose
- Provides additional volume and plumpness to lips
- Treats deep nasolabial folds and deeper wrinkles
How Is Perlane® Administered?
Perlane® contains hyaluronic acid – a substance that your body produces naturally. Hyaluronic acid has the property of attracting many times its own weight in water. It is present in large amounts in your skin and in between your joints, helping cushion them from impacts.
Hyaluronic acid is produced in smaller quantities as we age, which is one reason why our skin begins to lose its plumpness, and wrinkles begin to form. This process can be largely prevented or even reversed with Perlane®.
Treatment with Perlane® consists of an injection of the product deep into the skin to help fill in folds and wrinkles around the mouth and nose. The process only takes a few minutes and does not require any downtime afterward.
Perlane® contains naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, which attracts water molecules and lends a plumping effect to the skin. Since Perlane® is a natural product, the body does not recognize it as a foreign substance, and no allergy testing is required.
A numbing agent is first applied to the site to minimize any discomfort. After treatment, you may notice some minor swelling and redness where Perlane® was injected. An over-the-counter medication or cold compress should help minimize any swelling or discomfort.
How Much Will a Perlane® Treatment Cost?
Because Perlane® treatment is considered by insurance companies to be an elective procedure, they do not usually cover its cost. Carp Cosmetic Surgery Center can offer you financing assistance, however. Please call today if you have any questions about the treatment cost. You can choose to pay by personal check, cash, or credit card.
Am I a Good Candidate for Perlane® Injections?
People are usually interested in Perlane® to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also usually wish to add some plumpness to their facial skin. Perlane® treatments can help eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, helping you look closer to the age you actually feel. The treatment takes less than an hour, which is why people often choose to have it performed over their lunch hour.
You may be a good candidate for Perlane® treatment if you have the following characteristics:
- You have smoker’s lines around the mouth
- You have started seeing “marionette lines” around your mouth
- You have deep nasolabial folds or smile lines
- Facial contouring is desired
